Service Advisory For CN Rail, Brampton Next Week 2017-10-27

Following a Canadian National Railways (CN) derailment on the Fabyan trestle bridge on October 17 near Wainwright, Alberta, some temporary train delays impacted car supplies to port terminals.

CN has advised that the service disruption in Western Canada is now cleared and the network has returned to a fluid state. Delayed import trains are now moving toward inland destinations.

But Brampton Intermodal Terminal (BIT) is about to receive much of the delayed import containers over this weekend and into next week. In order to keep the Brampton Terminal operation running smoothly into the early part of next week, it is strongly encouraged that customers coordinate with the cartage community to pick up as many imports as possible this weekend. If there is not an increased level of import pickups, CN said it expects higher-than-normal carter turn times early next week, as the terminal will be heavy with grounded imports.

Forwarders are advised to make plans to clear as many containers as possible from BIT this weekend to avoid delays next week (Week 44).

Milgram will work as efficiently as possible to move containers away from Brampton ahead of the surge in traffic that is slowly making its way eastward.

Please contact your Milgram Client Services Representative for the status of any current shipment that has the potential of being affected by the heavy volume that is expected soon in Toronto.
