Port Worker Labour Difficulties in Jakarta, Indonesia 2017-07-28

Milgram have been notified that port workers have disrupted throughput at Jakarta’s International Container Terminal (JICT) unit UT1.
Milgram’s primary marine terminal at JICT is UT3 where operations are apparently normal and not subject to the disruption at UT1.
Because Jakarta is an emerging gateway (also very close in proximity to Singapore) and normal activity has caused overall congestion, the other terminals there are feeling the brunt of the disruption at UT1.
Our agent is being proactive with respect to collection, consolidation and the drayage of outbound full container (FCL) and groupage cargo (LCL) and has made adjustments to their receiving and operational schedule. They are in contact with local shippers who are certainly aware of the problems at their port; we suggest that upcoming cargo shipments be booked with our agent as soon as possible so that your shipper can coordinate with them for timely departure for your goods.
Please contact your Milgram Client Services representative for the status of any particular movement from Jakarta during this period.

Milgram has developed a reputation for providing the highest level of service in the fields of Customs Brokerage, International Freight Forwarding and Ground Transportation.

We strive to make things simple for our clients by doing them better, and work hard to meet and exceed our clients expectations.
