Sanctions Against Syria's Assad RegimeCanada Increases Sanctions Against Syria's Assad Regime 2012-05-28 The Canadian Government has broadened its sanctions against Syria's Assad regime by imposing a prohibition against the export, sell, supply or shipment to Syria or any person in Syria of any luxury good, such as jewellery, gems, precious metals, watches, cigarettes, alcoholic beverages, perfume, designer clothing and accessories, furs, sporting goods, private aircraft, gourmet foods and ingredients, lobster, computers, televisions and other electronic devices.
