US Coast Guard Announces Port of Miami Closure due to Tropical Storm Bonnie 2010-07-23

Please be advised the U. S. Coast Guard will shut down all in/out traffic to/from the Port of Miami at noon today through 1600 hrs at which time the Port status will be at: ZULU

POMTOC will operate under US Coast Guard direction which is subject to change at any time due to weather conditions.
 
Port of Miami’s current status: YANKEE
 
The following are brief descriptions for Port Status terms:
  • Port Status Whiskey - Tropical weather or hurricane conditions projected within 72 hours.
  • Port Status X-ray - Tropical weather or hurricane conditions projected within 48 hours.
  • Port Status Yankee - Tropical weather or hurricane conditions projected within 24 hours.
  • Port Status Zulu - Tropical weather or hurricane conditions projected within 12 hours.
  • Port Status Post-Storm Zulu - Tropical weather and hurricane conditions have passed but ports remains closed for assessment, restoration, and recovery.
