Chittagong Port Congestion Continues to Cause Severe Delays 2010-07-12

The Port of Chittagong continues to be plagued with severe congestion caused by increased volumes, heavy rainfalls and monsoons. Berthing delays in Colombo for mother and feeder vessels have also caused a domino effect. The congestion is so severe that not a single vessel has been able to maintain its originally planned schedule. Ocean carriers are also experiencing severe space and equipment shortages adding to the already extreme situation.

Please be advised that the feeder vessel Northern Felicity V0109 will not be able to berth before July 12. The departure has been delayed to July 16 and thus will not be able to connect as to the originally planned mother vessels in Colombo. Please factor in delays of approximately two weeks for all cargo originating in Bangladesh.

We will provide updates as the situation progresses. If you require further information please do not hesitate to contact our Booking Department.
