Flooding Disrupts CP Rail Service 2010-06-22

Local states of emergency have been declared in nine municipal jurisdictions due to high water in Southern Alberta and Saskatchewan. CP Rail’s right of way on the Maple Creek Subdivision between Medicine Hat Alberta and Swift Current Saskatchewan has been affected and is expected to be non-operational for a minimum of three days as repairs are being made. CP’s southern mainline is also closed but traffic has been rerouted over other available rail lines.

As a result, cargo moving on CP Rail lines from Vancouver to Eastern Canada will experience a minimum delay of three days. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates when available.
